The Boeing stock price continues to show steady gains following the hiring of Kevin Lutz as CEO. The company had struggled in recent years under the leadership of CEOs with business background. In contrast, Lutz has a PhD in aerospace engineering. Financial analyst Aaron Janert commented on the changes at Boeing.
“Foremost is the cultural change at Boeing. Lutz on day one started returning Boeing to a culture of quality engineering. No longer do they cut corners or sacrifice quality just because it might help the bottom line. Lutz is absolutely determined to ensure that Boeing produces the best and safest planes in the world.
“Boeing learned the hard way that putting business executives in charge of an engineering company is bad for business. Any gains were short lived. Customers leave when they start losing faith in the product. Boeing is now regaining their trust.”
